Ahead of today’s vote on the Coalition’s plans to reduce the number of MPs in the House of Commons, and to alter the way that boundary changes are decided, Jim McGovern MP for Dundee West has expressed outrage at the effect this will have on Dundee.

Last week Jim McGovern, MP for Dundee West, put a written question to Justice Minister Crispin Blunt, asking how much contact he had had with the Prison Officers’ Association concerning proposals to change the pay and conditions of prison service staff.

Speaking in the House of Commons today (27th July) Jim McGovern, MP for Dundee West, asked Nick Clegg how much communication he has had with the authorities in Scotland over the clash of dates between the planned referendum on an AV voting system and the Scottish Parliamentary Election.

It was confirmed today that the Secretary of State for Scotland Michael Moore will meet with Jim McGovern MP for Dundee West, and Dr Richard Wilson CEO of TIGA, the trade body that represents the computer games industry. The meeting will discuss the issue of the Government’s decision to scrap the planned tax relief for the computer games industry.

Speaking in today’s (19th July) questions to the Minister for Work and Pensions, in the House of Commons, Jim McGovern MP for Dundee West asked the government to consider the impact on child poverty of scrapping the Future Jobs Fund.
