April 27, 2007 The Royal Prerogative allows the Prime Minister to assume powers once held by the monarch and exercise them without Parliamentary approval. Some of these powers include the power to make war, the power to revoke passports, the power to appoint civil servants and the power to sign international treaties. Jim believes the Government should not have these powers and that they should be passed to Parliament. Here he tries to persuade the Government to move in that direction.
