Dundee West MP Jim McGovern today praised the Government for taking the brave step of deciding that any transfer of lottery money from the Big Lottery Fund will not effect voluntary organisations.

Dundee West MP Jim McGovern today welcomed the Government’s review of the Christmas hamper industry and urged the Government to move quickly to ensure that its recommendations are implemented in full.

Dundee West MP Jim McGovern today spoke up for Dundee’s Veteran’s day celebrations and the Dundee Combined Ex-Serviceman’s Association who organise the event by pressing the Government to offer more money so as to make the event another great success.

Last year Jim worked closely with the Combined Ex-serviceman’s association to ensure that Dundee received funding for their veterans day celebrations. This year Dundee wants to host another similar festival but the funding is not quite as straightforward as it was. Here Jim requests a meeting to pursue this further.

Dundee West MP Jim McGovern today used a Parliamentary Question to attack Alex Salmond’s assertion that should he be elected, which is open to question in itself, he plans to combine being the First Minister in Scotland with being the Member of Parliament for Banff and Buchan.
