The Conservative party have been largely wiped out in Scotland. Nonetheless on the 28th February they did their best to hijack Scottish questions and discuss the West Lothian Question for thirty minutes. Jim opposed this.

Figures obtained by Jim McGovern MP from the UK Treasury show that the level of employment in Dundee West has continued to rise.

Jim McGovern today used a Parliamentary motion to congratulate the Bishop of Dunkeld, Bishop Vincent Logan on the silver jubilee of his Episcopal Ordination.

Dundee West MP today welcomed the steadily increasing amount of people receiving tax credits. Figures obtained by Mr McGovern from the Treasury show that the amount of people across Scotland receiving these credits has now reached half a million.

The Arbuthnott commission was set up to review voting systems and regimes in Scotland. In its report it made no clear recommendations about voting systems. This upset many members and led to a very lively debate between a vast number of Scottish MPs. Jim strongly believes in FPTP and put his views on this issue across very strongly much to the chagrin of Brian Donohoe.
