Today Dundee West MP Jim McGovern’s continued his campaign against the decision by Pfizer Ltd to exclude all pharmaceutical wholesalers except Unichem from distributing their products across the UK with a question to the Leader of the House in Westminster.

Pfizer recently announced that they will now distribute their products through only one distributor, UniChem. This has caused considerable concern amongst wholesalers, pharmacists and patients. These concerns especially relate to guaranteed supply and prices. Jim has been holding a number of meetings with groups such as Pfizer and UniChem in order to find a more equitable solution.

Dundee West MP Jim McGovern today used a parliamentary motion to praise local academic, Professor Abd al-Fattah El-Awaisi and the Al-Makhthoum Institute, based here in Dundee, for their new report on the study of Islam and Muslims in universities.

In a series of questions Jim is trying to raise awareness of the effect that rapidly increasing energy prices are leading to increased levels of fuel poverty. He is also pushing the Government to link the successful Winter Fuel Allowance to energy prices to help those suffering from these high prices.
