As schools prepare for the summer holidays Jim McGovern MP and Margaret Dekker of Scotland’s Campaign against Irresponsible Drivers have combined in their appeal to urge drivers to slow down and be extra vigilant in the coming months

Jim McGovern MP added his support to the campaign to keep Trinidad and Tobago international Jason Scotland in the UK and playing for Dundee United. He wrote to Tony McNulty MP, the Minister of State responsible for immigration to support Dundee United’s appeals against the rejection of a work permit for the United striker.

Jim McGovern today put his name and full support to a campaign to protect the free cash machine network and ensure that customers who do not want to pay charges to access their own money have that choice.

On Tuesday 28th Jim McGovern MP joined in the debate on the Government’s proposed Civil Aviation Bill. Whilst praising the positive points of the Bill, including increased powers to reduce emissions and sound pollution Mr McGovern also had praise for the aviation industry and especially its impact on the Dundee economy.

Here Jim was making his first major speech on a Government Bill. The Bill related to Civil Aviation and was looking at new and innovative ways to reduce noise and air pollution.
